We have a gravity fed spring that is plumbed into our basement. We use gravity fed Berkey filters to clean our water for drinking. We clean the filters about once a month by removing the filters, scrubbing them, rinsing them, washing out the upper water reservoir, and putting the filters back into place. This is a power free solution. We collect rain water off of our roof in the summer months to water our gardens. This reduces our chances of running out of water from the spring.
