We use a shower pump that is battery operated. It has a rechargable battery that we plug in about once a month. We fill a 5 gallon bucket with hot and cold water until it's a comfortable temperature. Then we drop the shower pump into the water and hang the shower head in the shower. There is an on/off switch on the shower pump, so you can turn off the water when you are soaping up or shaving. This conserves a lot of water. We use about 4 gallons of water for one shower. That's enough to wash the body, hair and shave. In the winter months we use hot water that is heated from the wood stove's built in water jacket. In the summer, we use an electric water heater by dropping it into a 5 gallon bucket of cold water. We use an infrared thermometer gun to check the temperature. We set a timer for 15-20 minutes if the water is starting from about 60 degrees F from the spring.
